Privacy notice

Last updated: 30 August 2026

This is a working template, not legal advice — have a solicitor review it (and complete the contact details) before launch.

What we store

When you use HGV-Parking.co.uk we store the information you give us: your account details (name, email, optional phone and company name, and a hashed password — never the password itself), yard listings and photos, vehicle details, parking requirements, enquiries and reviews. We also record basic operational data such as advert impression and click counts, which are aggregate numbers not tied to your identity.

No payment card details

We do not take payments and hold no card or bank details. If payments launch in future (see our payments roadmap), Direct Debit details would be captured and stored by our payment provider (GoCardless), not on our servers, and this notice would be updated first.

Emails we send are logged

The platform emails people as part of how it works — for example, an enquiry about your yard, or a note that a new parking requirement matches your listing. A copy of each outbound email (recipient, subject, body) is kept in our email log so we can troubleshoot delivery and audit what was sent. Enquiry messages you send to a yard owner are, by design, shared with that owner.

How we use your information

To run the marketplace: showing listings, delivering enquiries, matching requirements to nearby yards, and keeping the site secure. We do not sell personal data. Adverts on the site are flat-rate sponsored placements — there is no behavioural ad tracking, no third-party ad cookies, and advertisers receive only aggregate impression/click counts.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie: a signed session cookie that keeps you logged in. No analytics or advertising cookies are set.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

Under UK data-protection law you can ask for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and the data that goes with it. To exercise any of these rights, contact the data controller:

Data controller: [ENTITY NAME — a danielwalsh.ai project]
Email: [privacy contact email]
Address: [registered address]

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, your yards, vehicles, requirements and reviews are removed with it; email log entries are retained for a limited period for audit purposes and then deleted.
